Human
Guidance for real people: budgets, busy weeks, imperfect kitchens, and practical progress.
About Human Standard
Clear, evidence-informed guidance for healthier homes—designed for actual people and real life.
WHY HUMAN STANDARD
Modern life has changed faster than human biology. Human Standard helps people understand where those changes matter—and where they don’t.
We are constantly surrounded by repeated exposures from the air we breathe, the water we drink, the materials in our homes, and the products we use every day. Our bodies are remarkably adaptive—but that doesn’t mean every exposure is irrelevant or that people should be left to sort through conflicting research alone.
Guidance for real people: budgets, busy weeks, imperfect kitchens, and practical progress.
Credible evidence, real human physician judgment, transparent sourcing with strict standards where it matters most, and useful next steps.
You get one human body. What kind of environment was it designed to live in?
What we believe
Healthy-home decisions should not require dozens of tabs or a degree in deciphering claims.
Small, meaningful changes can matter more than trying to change everything at once.
We prioritize credible evidence, transparent limitations, and practical relevance over fear-based headlines.
Guidance should work for every kind of home while respecting the people and generations who share it.

Co-Founder, Chief Medical Officer
Jessika Eby, M.D., is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician and practicing hospitalist with over a decade of frontline inpatient experience. With a special interest in preventive, functional, and longevity medicine, Dr. Eby focuses on how daily exposures shape long-term health. She co-founded Human Standard to bring evidence-informed, practical home wellness guidance to people seeking clearer answers.
OUR STORY
We’re two moms who care deeply about what comes into our homes—and the kind of world our children will grow up in. But that wasn’t always the case.
Before having kids, we moved through everyday life much like many other people do: largely unaware of how many unnecessary chemicals and everyday exposures had quietly become part of our routines. We trusted that if something was widely available on store shelves, someone had already asked the hard questions.
Becoming parents changed that.
It brought a new level of awareness—and a lot of questions. What’s actually in the products we use every day? What truly matters when it comes to our health? And how do we make better choices without completely overhauling our lives?
What we found was overwhelming: conflicting information, unclear labeling, and very little practical guidance about what to do about it or where to even begin.
So we created Human Standard.
The name is our promise: not another impossible standard to live up to, but a more human one to come home to. We believe healthier-home guidance should start with what supports the human body—and still make room for the way people actually live: full schedules, real budgets, imperfect kitchens, and no interest in fear or extremes.
Not another impossible standard to live up to. A more human one to come home to.
By bringing two complementary ways of thinking to the same problem—human health and real-world behavior—we set out to bring a clearer standard into the mainstream: credible enough to trust, practical enough to use, and approachable enough to become part of everyday life.
Through research-informed guidance that you can actually understand and thoughtfully curated products, we help simplify the process of reducing unnecessary exposures—making it easier to take meaningful steps without the stress, fear, or extremes.
Everything we offer—and everything we are building—is designed to meet people where they are and support real life.
Because caring for your home is one of the most powerful ways to care for your family—and for the future we all share.
Our methodology
Evidence becomes useful only when it is translated with judgment, context, and respect for real life.
